About me
I never stop feeling excited about sharing the liberating effect yoga has had on my life.
A mother of three grown-up children, I recently hit the pause button on a fast-paced London life, and now travel the world offering yoga retreats, holidays, trainings, workshops and private classes.
Having left a successful career producing documentaries for the BBC, I pursued my passion for yoga and became a 500-hour certified teacher. I’ve been practising for 20 years and teaching for ten years and I never stop feeling excited about sharing the liberating effect yoga has had on my life. My journey has taken me all over the world, and most recently to Suryalila Yoga Retreat Centre in Spain where I am a faculty teacher on Frog Lotus International teacher training programs.
My yoga retreat companies Lisa Dunn Global Yoga Retreats and La Vita in Equilibrio (Italian cultural yoga holidays) were spurred by my love for yoga, travel and a life-long romance with Italy. My teaching approach is a reflection of my open-hearted and fun personality. I bring a contemporary eye to time-honoured traditions and draw on the universal teachings of yoga, both on and off the mat.
An eternal student, I have been studying the Katonah Yoga® methodology for the last three years and have now gained a 200-hour teaching certification. This mystical, yet pragmatic practice teaches yoga poses with a geometric focus to build steadiness and strength. It uses the body’s own perfect measurement to create functional and well-fitting forms. Finding this fluency in your body enables ease of mind and helps to achieve enduring health and radiant well-being.
With this elixir of Katonah, pranayama (breathwork), and intelligent sequencing, my classes are crafted to empower my students to advance their practice, whilst maintaining a safe and lasting yoga experience.
More recently I have been lured back behind the camera and have finished a documentary about the world of yoga seen through the lens of Europe’s biggest yoga retreat centre situated in Spain. The documentary Suryalila: Six Years in Search of Sanity was filmed over six years and is due to a theatrical release late summer 2020. I am currently producing its sequel as well as making another yoga documentary about Katonah Yoga based in New York.
